Golden Eagle Softball Falls 1-0 at North Stokes

In softball acton from Tuesday, Surry Central came up short against North Stokes in a 1-0 loss. The game was delayed because of a forecast of thunderstorms. But, according to Karmen Gardener, "The storms had no effect on the players."

Late in the game in the fifth inning, North Stokes scored off of a fielding and throwing error by the Lady Eagles. According to Coach Glenn Craddock they still had a great game. Elise Austin's pitching stood out, she faced 24 batters with nine strikeouts, no walks, gave up three hits with one run. Gardner had a triple and Ivy Johnson hit a double to pace the Eagle offense.

The Lady Eagles will face East Surry in a home game on Friday afternoon following the JV game which begins at 4:00pm
