When Jess Wilmoth stepped up to the plate in the third inning last Friday against Mt. Airy, he had one thing on his mind. "I just want a hit" says Wilmoth. He got a hit alright. With a 1-0 count, Jess smashed a 3-run homerun, clearing the left field fence by 40 feet. This gave the Eagles a 6-1 lead before they went on to beat Mt. Airy 7-2.
Central also had a big game Tuesday vs North Stokes. The Eagles were ahead 6-3 before the start of the fifth inning when the game was postponed due to thunder. That game was finished up on Thursday in a 12-6 win for the Eagles.
Sandwiched between the North Stokes was a 16-0 defeat at West Wilkes.
Tonight the Eagles play at East Surry in their 6th Conference game of the season.
