This 2011-2012 year for Girls Soccer has finally started. The Eagles return All Conference players Sarah Bruce, Haylee Harrison, Tess Dockery, and Chandler Musson(Goal Keeper); and all are in the tenth grade. New to the team this year are Laura Dobbins and Maddy Snow, both ninth graders who have played soccer before. The girls played club soccer during the off season. This year's team looks to be a young one, according to Head Coach Matt Richardson. When asked about the the team's outlook he said, "This year we have an athletic team, we're young, but if the girls work well together, we should do well." Returning senior starters are Maddie White, Kayla Feeney, Reba Stanley, and Kolina Marsh. The Eagles only lost one starter from last year, Margarita Cortez. She's the older sister to one of this year's senior starters, German Cortez. The girls began the year with a scrimage Febuary 22 at home against Ashe County and officially started their season with a 9-0 victory against East Wilkes Febuary 28.
