JV Baseball loses pitcher's dual at North Surry

The JV Golden Eagles got 6 1/3 well pitched innings from Cole Fowler (5.2 innings, 11 strike outs) and John Marshall, but an unearned run in the 7th proved costly in a 1-0 loss at North Surry. The score stayed 0-0 until the bottom of the 7th inning when North Surry put runners on second and third with just one out. On a pitch in the dirt, the throw behind the runner at third base by catcher Andrew Hegler was high and soared into left field. Backing up the throw was freshman left fielder Daniel Davis, who made the return throw to the plate in hopes of stopping the winning run. However, the throw was low and in the dirt, giving the runner the opportunity to score the winning run. He took advantage of it making the final score 1-0.
