Eagle Track in Competition Thursday

Surry Central competed in Track & Field Thursday with East Surry and North Surry in a meet held at North Surry.

Results of the Boys meet were 1st E. Surry with 75 points, 2nd Surry Central - 44, and 3rd N. Surry - 39.

The Girls competition however was closer with E. Surry finishing 1st again with 68 points, the Lady Eagles placed 2nd with 44, and N. Surry was 3rd with 41.

Standout performances for the Golden Eagles Thursday included Raymond Salazar with two big personal bests in Shot Put (33'-11.75") and Discus (96"-07"). Jackie Rangel also had a personal best in the 1600, bettering his previous PB by 16 seconds (8:29.3). Giseline Martinez had personal bests in the 1600 (6:43.1) and 3200 (15:44.3); she finished 3rd in 1600 and 1st in 3200.

The Surry Central Boys won two events, Chance Beck in the Discus (115-2) and the 4 x 800 relay team with a time of 10:16.3.

Girls Events won by the Eagles were the 4 x 800 relay team (12:34.06), Jessica Snow in the 100 High Hurdles (18:11) & 300 Hurdles (56:0), Megan Gillespie in the 400 Dash (1:12.1), and Giseline Martinez in the 3200 (15:44.3).
